Intern With Us!

Iswar Sankalpa is open for internship and fieldwork throughout the year. We require all interested persons to fill in an internship application at least 30 days before the expected start of the internship/fieldwork period. Your application will be processed within 10 working days of receiving the same.

Placement

You will be placed in the following areas of Iswar Sankalpa’s work based on interest, suitability, and organisation’s requirements:

• Fieldwork in the Community Outreach Programme of Naya Daur (60 wards of north, south, central Kolkata)
• Sarbari: Shelter for Homeless Women with Psychosocial Disabilities (Chetla, Kolkata)
• Marudyan: Shelter for Homeless Women with Psychosocial Disabilities (Northern Park, Kolkata)
• Urban Mental Health Programme in Kolkata Municipal Corporation run ward-health units (Ward 11- Aurobindo Sarani, Hatibagan, Ward 26 – Ramesh Dutta Street, Ward 54 – Girish Chandra Bose Road, Ward 78 – Ekbalpore Road, Ward 82 – Chetla Hat Road)
• Functional Literacy Programme (across all programmes)
• Nayagram: Assisted Community Living Programme (Kashipur, South 24 Parganas)
• Women’s Collective (across Kolkata)
• Reintegration, Skills development, Employment Work (across all programmes)
• Administration and finance related work (across all programmes)
• Management Information System development (across all programmes)
• Research Work (A research proposal is required when applying for research work)
• Communication and Fundraising work

Please note that undergraduate students will not be allowed to do individual case work with clients, but can observe and assist team members.

Application Process

• Please fill up the application form:
• Iswar Sankalpa charges a minimum internship processing fee of INR 1000 from Indian interns and a fee of $100 for International interns applicable for a maximum of a 2 month period. For students doing their dissertation research, Iswar Sankalpa charges a minimum processing fee of INR 2500 applicable for a 2 month period. This can be paid through cash, cheque or bank transfer. Details will be shared upon request with the interns.
• Confirmed interns will be provided with relevant documents  for necessary reading to understand Iswar Sankalpa’s work. It is recommended that the intern goes through them before starting the internship.
• The intern will be required to visit all Iswar Sankalpa programmes as part of their orientation.
• The intern will be asked to fill in a feedback form and submit their final work before being issued a certificate of internship
