Dr. Prabir Paul

President

Dr. Paul is an MBBS, DPM, MD, working in the field of Psychiatry for the last 40 years. He has been Ex, Superintendent at Lumbini Park Mental Hospital; and is a Life Member of several Psychiatric and Medical Societies and Associations. He has been Past President of the Indian Psychiatric Society – both the Eastern Zonal Branch and and the West Bengal State Branch and the West Bengal State Branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society. His areas of special interest are in community psychiatry, severe mental illness in geriatric society.  He enjoys travelling, photography and has a passionate love for Rabindra sangeet, hindustani classical and western classical music.

Mr. Khandelwal is the Founder and Chairman of Dhanwantary Medicare and Research Centre Pvt Ltd. He is also the Honorary Consul of The Republic of Niger in Kolkata. He has served as the District Governor Rotary International, District 3291 in 2010-2011, and Rotary International Council on Legislation Representative 2016, Chicago, USA. He has also served as past Presidents at Calcutta Chamber of Commerce and Concern for Calcutta. He is the author of “Life is a Celebration.” He believes that learning is a continuous process and is currently pursuing a PHD in Social Science. He unwinds playing lawn tennis, golf and table tennis and enjoys listening to music.

Ms. Das Roy is a social development crusader. She pioneered an alternative pathway of care for the homeless persons with mental illness which has reached out to over 3000 such persons. She established the first special shelter for homeless women and men with psychosocial disabilities in Kolkata in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal which has given a second lease of life to 600+ women in the last 10 years and about 175 men in the last 5 years. She has initiated an integrated approach to health care by making available mental health care at municipality primary health care centers, for the urban home-based poor in collaboration with Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Rinku Soni

Ms. Soni first came in contact with Iswar Sankalpa in 2008 and started volunteering her time with the women in Sarbari. She soon started becoming engaged in raising funds and was part of the first Annual Programme including a dance drama by the shelter residents in 2012. Ms. Soni has been closely associated with the Crust & Core Café programme, and has recently started her own workshop cum boutique. She enjoys dancing and painting.

Everyday is a new day’ is the thought that energises Dr Srikumar Mukherjee to carry forward the various roles in his life.  Having treated and cared for countless individuals vulnerable due to homelessness and psychosocial disabilities, his favourite IS moment was the day the first resident of the Shelter walked in with her own consent exhibiting trust and faith in the organization.  The lesson it left behind was to learn how to be worthy of a person’s trust. Dr Mukherjee loves Clint Eastwood and Julia Roberts films and flips through his favourite Alistair Maclean books when he gets time

Dr. Mukherjee is an MBBS, MD, DNB, MRCPsych and CCT (UK). He is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Medica Superspecialty Hospital and a Visiting Consulting Psychiatrist at AMRI Group of Hospitals. He has over 40 publications to his credit and his special area of interest is Developmental disorders in adults, children, Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychiatry. He has served in administrative and committee posts at Indian Psychiatric Society, local and on a more macro level, and continues his strong involvement with IPS. He is actively involved in teaching training in various capacities’ and he is a regular speaker and facilitator in regional and national CME’s and conferences

Jayati Saha

A split second storyteller who tells stories without saying a single word, photo- artist Jayati Saha amazes with her frames of nuanced light and shadow. Exhibited and owned worldwide, Jayati is a much-in-demand artist, teacher and competition judge. Her sensitive eye has captured moments glistening with human emotions and her forte is seeing the unseen and the unnoticed. She is also a contributor at the Getty Images Inc., USA. She was the adjudicator at the Photography competition hosted by the SAARC, 2015. Her work regularly features in prominent exhibitions, and has been part of publications like Outlook, Life Force Magazine, Photo journal among others. She has also received several awards for her work.

Surajit Ray

He is a mechanical engineering graduate from IIT, Kharagpur. He trained in London Business School, IMD Lausanne & Cranfield University. He is a professional member of Sumedhas and ISTD. He has multidisciplinary exposure in the corporate sector pertaining to marketing, manufacturing, HR and organizational development. He has consulted in HRD/OD from 1992 with 75 organizations. He is a regular Corporate Trainer and external Coach-Counsellor-Mentor and has anchored the making of two CDs on Creativity and Counselling. He is very fond of reading and travelling. He decided to reach out through Iswar Sankalpa to those whose mental well-being and rehabilitation is his human obligation- something he is unable to do just by himself.
