Iswar Sankalpa celebrated Valentine’s Day – a day of love along with the beginning of spring; Basant Utsav at the shelter with lots of colour and fun.

About the Event
The shelter was decorated with white and red balloons and the residents put up an exhibition of the products made by the vocational unit.
Some guests were invited to grace the occasion – Mr. Rajendra Khandelwal, from Friends of Kolkata and supporter of our cause, Mr. Debashis Ganguly, music director, Mr. Arindam, medical student and a member of a band, and Mr. Shankar Karmakar, a singer.
The guests presented the residents with red roses, a token of love and were welcomed by the residents into their shelter home. The women then put up a small song and dance performance followed by a musical performance by Mr. Debashis Ganguly, Mr. Arindam and Mr. Karmakar. The audience was tapping their feet to their music.
Mr. Rajendra Khandelwal also addressed the audience and various staff members sang songs, presented poems or shared their thoughts as did some of the clients itself.
The exhibition was much appreciated and there was a cutting of a very tasty cake followed by lunch for all.
